The familiar sound of whistles and chattering filled the air at St Dominics Priory School as the first week of the social netball season kicked off. It was an evening brimming with camaraderie, friendly competition, and a shared love for the sport. From seasoned players to novices, everyone basked in the energetic atmosphere, demonstrating their teamwork and commitment whilst enjoying a night of spirited netball.

In the Premier League group, Thunderbirds and Brammy Babes shared the honours with a tightly battled game. The heartening score of 23-23 was reflective of the high spirits, unyielding teamwork, and the cooperative sportsmanship on display. Each pass, each goal, and each supportive cheer amplified the charm of the lively match.

The match between The Queens and Goal Diggers was another spectacle, with Goal Diggers taking the game with a score of 28-11. The game was a delightful mix of eagerness, positive energy, and an engaging display of netball skills. Despite the score difference, it was the spirit of the game that shone through, mirroring the essence of social netball.

A close encounter between Shooting Stars and Queen Bees led to an exciting finish with Queen Bees finishing with a score of 23-20. Amid the laughter and cheers, both teams showcased admirable dedication and a strong sense of companionship.

A special mention goes out to the Most Valued Player of the evening. Their enthusiasm, swift movement around the court, and overall positive contribution did not go unnoticed. Applauded by teammates and opponents alike, their infectious energy beautifully epitomised the spirit of Back to Netball.

As we eagerly anticipate Week 2, we extend a warm welcome to players who are rediscovering their love for the sport. The next evening promises to be another fun-filled session of friendly social netball. The focus remains on keeping active, meeting new people, and developing netball skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.
