The thrill and dynamism of the Stone Tuesday Netball League were showcased last night as we witnessed the second week of the enthralling season. The Premier League division was on fire, featuring some of the most competitive netball teams in the region.
The evening commenced with the Goal Diggers going beak-to-beak with the Queen Bees. In a hotly contested match, the Queen Bees emerged triumphant with a 7-5 win over the Goal Diggers. The night continued with the Net Ninjas squaring off against the Shooting Stars. The Stars shone bright and outpaced the Ninjas with a notable 18-7 victory.
The crowd was treated to another exciting clash as the Hoop There It Is and Stone Mermaids faced off. Evident from the scoreline of 14-8, Hoop There It Is managed to thwart the Mermaids with their strategic gameplay and excellent teamwork. The Thunderbirds then displayed their prowess, securing a significant victory against The Queens with a scoreline of 17-8.
Among the individual performances, The Queens' Rachael Lindop enjoyed an outstanding game and was rightly crowned the most valued player of the week. Her exceptional skills and contributions were pivotal throughout the match, despite the team's overall defeat.
A recap of the top scorers: the Shooting Stars led the Premier League division with an impressive 18 goals, followed closely by the Thunderbirds with 17 goals. Hoop There It Is managed to secure a respectable 14 goals, while the Queen Bees buzzed in with seven.
