The Canterbury Monday Netball league commenced its season last night, with teams in the Premier League Division promising an intense and competitive season ahead. The games were filled with moments of brilliance and grit as teams fought tooth and nail to secure their respective victories.

In the Premier League, the inaugural week saw a thrilling showdown between Win Or Booze and Canterbury Hot Shots. The match, characterized by swift passes, sharp shooting, and relentless defense, ended with a narrow victory for the Canterbury Hot Shots, who triumphed over Win Or Booze with a score of 15-14.

Elsewhere in the same division, the Tigers faced off against No Direction in a game that showcased some high-level netball. However, No Direction dominated the court, securing a solid 15-7 victory.

The match between Shooting Stars and Rowdy Rockets was another noteworthy contest. Despite Shooting Stars showcasing some stellar gameplay, Rowdy Rockets emerged victorious, scoring 23 goals against Shooting Stars' 17, marking the highest scoring game in the Premier League division this week.

The standout performance of the week came from Nicola Ashdown, a player from Win Or Booze. Her exceptional agility, precision, and overall contribution to the game won her the title of the most valued player of the week. Ashdown's commendable play sets a high benchmark for the following weeks of the season.
