The new season of social netball kicked off with a spirited evening at NWSH @ Southlands High School for Chorley Sunday. The atmosphere was electric, with players of all experience levels mingling, laughing, and lacing up their trainers. It was Week 1 of the season, and the welcoming atmosphere served as a wonderful reminder of the core values of social netball: community, wellness and fun.
In the Division 1 group, the Vipers shared a friendly match with Astley Ballers, finishing the game with a scoreline of 27-20. Both teams showcased exceptional teamwork and commitment, playing with positive energy and a great spirit of sportsmanship.
The Sundays and the Chorley Flames also faced off in a game that was brimming with fun and camaraderie. The Sundays managed to pull ahead, finishing with a score of 34-14, but not before both teams exhibited outstanding dedication on the court.
Clovers were paired against the Net Rebels, with the final whistle recording a score of 25-15 in favour of the Clovers. The game was an inspiring display of the love for the sport, with both teams exemplifying the true essence of social netball.
Lastly, an entertaining game between Hoops I Did It Again and Chorley Inferno Fireballs ensued, ending with a score of 24-22. Both teams showcased a strong sense of enthusiasm, perseverance and great team effort.
A special mention goes to the Most Valued Player of the evening, whose enthusiasm and intelligent movement around the court were remarkable. Their positive contributions were appreciated by teammates and opponents alike, reflecting the true spirit of social netball.
Looking ahead to Week 2, we anticipate another evening of friendly social netball. This is a fantastic way to keep active, meet new people, and develop your netball skills in a supportive environment. The social netball season has just begun and everyone is welcome.
