In the suspenseful ninth week of the Chorley Sunday Netball League, we witnessed some thrilling performances across all divisions. The divisional clashes were highly competitive, producing some outstanding scoring margins and even a tie in Division 2.
In Division 1, the Chorley Inferno Fireballs set the courts ablaze with a scorching 18-0 victory over the Goal Diggers. They dominated the match from start to finish, clearly underlining their top-standing in the league. The Fireballs’ impeccable defence and swift counter-attacks left the Goal Diggers shell-shocked and scoreless, marking a memorable win for the Fireballs.
Another high-voltage encounter saw the Victory Vipers edge past Hoops I Did It Again in a closely contested 30-24 win. The Vipers, keeping their composure despite the relentless pressure from Hoops, managed to secure a key victory and further solidify their position in the league.
Meanwhile, in Division 2, the Astley Ballers demonstrated a sterling performance against the Chorley Flames, winning by a significant ten-point margin (26-16). Their strategic plays and consistent scoring throughout the game reflected their ambition and determination for the season.
The division also saw a fiercely fought battle between the Chorley Cowgirls and The Sundays, ending with The Sundays squeaking out a 22-19 win. Their last-minute goal was the decider, causing an uproar among the spectators.
In an unexpected turn of events, Ball Busters and Netflicks And Balls ended their match in a thrilling 23-23 tie. Both teams showcased stellar defence and scoring skills, making it one of the most riveting games of the week.
