Everyone is very much enjoying playing whilst its sunny and the court is nice and dry lately, so long may that continue!
Last night we really started to notice how much everyone has improved by how competitive most of the scores are becoming, even a draw gives us a good idea that people are really now getting that rust off and are start to enjoy themselves and get into the game!
TEAM OF THE WEEK!
This week there really wasn't any other team eligible for the weekly award, other than Winging it! Winging it are one of our longest serving teams and have mostly just had issues with getting a consistent 5/6 players weekly. It really feels that they are over that hump now and after showing really promising signs of gaining the lead early in their game last week, to then unfortunately go on to lose. This week they dug deep and clung on to that lead for their lives. Not only a first win for the ladies, but doing it so confidently and in such style, winning the game 13-3, is quite an incredible score line for your first win. Onwards and upwards!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARDS!
Cathy Hague - muddy balls - Although Cathy and her team didn't win last night, that didn't stop her from standing out and impressing the umpire! What a performance from the GD, she really was excellent for her team, always in the right place at the right time and making countless perfectly timed interceptions.
Victoria Wood - Pocket rockets - Victoria was another player that really stood out and performed excellently, even though her team suffered defeat, she really did put in a POTM worthy performance and one that the umpire was extremely impressed by!
Nicola Miller - jalapeƱo Hotties - Nicola's team actually managed to get a draw from their game and as I'm sure you can all imagine, she was vital for that draw. She was always available to receive the ball in the right place, with her movement being really on point and then her shooting....well she doesn't miss very often!
