BIRMINGHAM! What a fantastic start to the new season - 

The much-awaited Birmingham Wednesday Netball league, kicked off last night in a blaze of action and excitement. The first week of the season saw teams from the League showcasing their skills and determination on the court.

Four thrilling matches dominated the evening, each adding its unique flair to the overall ambience of the inaugural week. In a fiercely contested match, Longbridge Ladies emerged victorious against Sapphires with a scoreline of 9-7. Not too far away, Longbridge Shooters demonstrated their prowess with a 24-7 victory over Rednal Roses.

Northfield Angels and Marshnetters engaged in a nail-biting contest, with the former seizing the win by a slender margin, 8-6.  Netchix managed an impressive 17-4  over Netball Rail, marking the highest score of the evening in the League.

Despite the loss, Netball Rail had a silver lining in the form of Rebecca Pountney-Mayo. Her outstanding performance on the court earned her the title of the most valued player of the week.

The first week of the league has set the tone for the rest of the season, with teams from the League displaying their competitive spirit. As the season progresses, fans can look forward to more exciting match-ups, high scores, and standout performances.
